San Frissco: From Manufacturing to Branding

Making functional and stylish footwear with a focus on comfort and versatility, San Frissco has a wide range which can seamlessly slide from the office into the weekend. Kuldeep Singh, Founder and CEO at San Frissco talks to us about his journey and his inspirations.

Can you tell us about your background and how it led you to start your own men’s shoe brand?

Since childhood, I had a keen interest in shoes, perhaps because many of my friends in Agra belonged to families in the shoe business. So, after completing graduation I decided to get into the show manufacturing business in 1993 and set up a shoe factory. However, being just another manufacturer in the market was not my focus, I wanted to create a niche brand. For the first 12 years, I did contract shoe manufacturing for other brands. Over time while managing the manufacturing line, I realised that to create a long-lasting name in the market you need to have a brand play. And thus in 2005, I ventured into building my footwear brand San Frissco, starting with manufacturing leather dress shoes for men. And now the brand offers a wide range of men’s shoes starting from stylish kolhapuris to athletic trainers.

Who are your biggest influences in the fashion industry and how have they inspired your work?

We draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including the latest fashion trends, classic designs, and the needs and desires of our customers. We are inspired by brands that have successfully blended style and comfort, such as Cole Haan and Clarks. We also look to innovators in the industry, such as Adidas and Nike, who have revolutionised the way we think about athletic footwear. Ultimately, our goal is to create a brand that appeals to the modern man, who values style, comfort, and affordability.
