Wilson Hills, Gujarat

Just 99kms away from Surat, this lush green hilly heaven is not very famous amongst tourists but is a hidden gem of Gujarat. If you love to go for exciting treks which end up with gorgeous views, then this is the place for you. With an average elevation of 750m, this place is enjoyed the most during the summer months as the climate remains cool with less humidity. So, next summer vacations, put this on your list. It is famous for its delicious juicy mangoes and its famous ‘chhatri’ made of marbles. This is one of those very few hill stations in the world from where you can get a glimpse of the sea. It is also very close to Pangarbari Wildlife Sanctuary.

Varkala, Kerala

Known as the Goa of the south, this untouched coastal beauty is located in Kerala and is more famous amongst international travelers than Indians. It is all about pretty sand beaches, golden sunsets and delicious food. This is like food for the soul as the peaceful environment and the natural beauty will leave you mesmerized. Not many must be aware of the fact that in Kerala, Varkala is the only place where Cenozoic sedimentary formation cliffs are found near the Arabian Sea. These cliffs are unique and are also known as Varkala Formation. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has declared these a national geological monument or a geo-heritage site. Along with the Varkala Beach, you can even check out Kappil Beach which is just 5km from the main town of Varkala. The 200-year-old Janardhana Swami Temple has Hindu devotees coming in from around the country. Trivandrum airport, which is just 55kms away is the closest to this town.
