What inspired you to establish Aura Skin Institute?
I had conceived the idea of setting up my own clinic during my residency days in PGIMER, Chandigarh and had a vision for an institute that could provide high end cutting edge technologies. Also, I wanted to continue with research work and innovations, apart from training young dermatologists in aesthetic, regenerative and intervention dermatology.
What sets you apart from other clinics in terms of skincare treatments?
Our focus has always been on providing the holistic health, rather than just treating the skin on the surface. We believe that skin provides a window to the internal environment of the body; and we try to correct the root cause of various skin ailments by following the science of nutrigenomics, regenerative medicine and circadian rhythm.
I have also conceptualized a plant based protein ‘Protience @8 am’ (available at our clinic and online), that aims at reversing high carb environment associated with Indian dietary habits and in turn helping in correcting various lifestyle and metabolic diseases.
The entire infrastructure at our institute is US FDA approved and is high on safety and efficacy. We have introduced many technologies for the first time in India like Alma Hybrid Laser, BTL Exilis 360 to name a few. I am key opinion leader for highly reputed international companies like ALMA and BTL aesthetics, and I remain in regular touch with their clinical research teams for devising safe protocols for Indian skin types.
