Here are six skincare hacks for the chilly days ahead!
In Ayurveda, winter is the best season to improve immunity. Yet, as the weather turns dry and cold, winter becomes the dreaded flu season. The skin also becomes dry and dull. The characteristic dosha responsible for this is the Vata and hence, to keep your skin moisturised, you have to rehydrate it from within by balancing Vata.
What then? How do you align all your doshas in harmony? Mrs Megha Chopra, Brand director and Co-Founder at Just Herbs, has six tips to avoid dry skin this winter!
1. Moisturise your skin: This has been repeated to us from time to time. But like every best friend, let us give you another gentle nudge, moisturise. Use heavier moisturiser now as the cold weather depletes the skin of its natural oils. Use cream-based moisturisers and a hydrating mask if you have to.
2. Watch out for the ingredients: Be mindful of the ingredients you are letting soak into your skin like using petroleum jelly to treat dryness is not a solution. Petroleum Jelly only forms a film and doesn’t moisturise the skin. Check for ingredients before using the product. Look for moisturising ingredients like aloe vera and shea butter.
