Adding Indian culture to your table

Reflecting various hues of India, Kaunteya is a brand which is all about luxurious tableware. Sonal Jetha, Founder, Kaunteya in conversation with Urban Melange tells us about how this idea came to her mind and how she is enjoying being an entrepreneur.

It is very well proven, that we eat with out eyes first, and when the tableware is so luxurious and finely crafted, then it is bound to catch your guest’s attention. Kaunteya has been dealing in heirloom tableware, which are finished with a touch of 24 karat pure gold. Talking about her journey so far, Sonal Jetha, Founder, Kaunteya, says, “the journey so far is very beautiful, encouraging and full of hard work. The profession of design is something which gives me a sense of satisfaction. You are creating heirloom pieces that will remain with generations.”

To design such intricate pieces and market them to your target audience, you need to have keen passion in your business, explain where her passion comes from, Sonal says, “the passion is for the Indian art and culture. Tableware was the maiden medium. We wanted to present the stories of India in a most premium way. So, we carefully selected luxury gold plated tableware.”

She has been an entrepreneur since last 25 years in the fields of advertising and events. “Starting my own brand came naturally to me. I know how to make it and I know how to market it. That’s what makes you an entrepreneur,” adds Sonal. Her brand has received much love from the Indian audience, and she soon plans to take it international, sharing her future plans, she says, “we are growing steadily. This is what we want also. We have decent national presence, but we have to improve it many folds and also at the same time we want to grow internationally.”
