‘My patients’ blessings are my biggest achievement’

With experience of more than 11 years, Dr. Gursimran Singh comes from a family of doctors who motivate him to do his best every passing day. In a conversation with Urban Melange, Dr. Singh walks us through his journey till now.

  1. Tell us about your journey as a doctor till now?

I started my journey as a medical student in the year 1999 at SRI GURU RAM DAS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES AND RESEARCH, SRI AMRITSAR SAHIB. After completing my MBBS I prepared for my post-graduation entrance examination. In 2008 I entered into PG Surgery Course at ASCOMS Jammu and after attaining M.S Degree in General and Laparoscopy Surgery I joined as Senior Registrar in the DEPT OF SURGICAL ONCOLOGY at DMC&H, LUDHIANA. In 2015 I underwent Advanced Laparoscopy training at WALS, UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE, UNITED KINGDOM after which I attained a Fellowship and Diploma in MINIMAL ACCESS SURGERY. The year 2015 saw another milestone in my carrier as I took initiation in the field of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and to date, I have Successfully performed various Bariatric and Metabolic procedures (such as L.S.G, M.G.B, P.J.B) at CHD CITY HOSPITAL, CHANDIGARH. In 2018 in association with my fellow colleagues Dr. Rishi Mangat, Dr. Manpal Narula, Dr. Heena Chawla, and Dr. Tarandeep Singh, I started a new venture in the name of CITY CHD HOSPITAL, SECTOR 8/C, CHANDIGARH. It is a SUPER-SPECIALITY HOSPITAL with world-class Modular Operation Theaters, ICU Wards, Pvt Rooms, Diagnostic Facilities, and Physiotherapy.
