My journey can be summed up with the phrase “Jack of all trades, master of some “. I wanted to be an animation artist at first, ended up being a Dental Surgeon from Genesis Dental College, Ferozpur. Although one cannot cage an artist for long inside his/her body so I decided to follow my heart and jumped into the runway of my dreams of being a Make-up artist. I got my professional make-up training from Shahid Naar, Amritsar. My creativity, quick learning skills and that fire in the belly gave me an edge over the competition. It’s my second year in the field and my brushes are already doing the magic.

What were the major challenges that you had to face? How did you overcome them?

One of the major challenges I faced in my first year of this professional journey was to overcome the criticism from my well-wishers for shifting my career from a dentist to a make-up artist. Well, as they say, “Challenges make you discover things about yourself that you never really knew”. I discovered a lot new about myself and here I am following my dream. Eventually, after seeing my work, the same people appreciated my decision and encouraged me to fly higher in this journey.

What motivated you to take the plunge to become a make-up artist? What are some highlights of your trailblazing journey?

I always had that creative bug in me. I used to be the make-up artist for my friends in my college parties & events. Later when I got married, my husband motivated me to follow my passion instead of working as a dentist and there began my journey. Empty order books were common in the beginning, but I loved working so much that I started giving free makeovers to my relatives & friends who in turn got appreciated so well that I got many orders and it became my holy grail of motivation.
