Someone rightly said, it is always wise to listen to your heart and we should try to make our hobby or something we are passionate about as our profession. Gonika Sachdeva believed in her calling and took a step ahead in its direction. In a conversation with Nikita Agarwal, she talks about her journey, challenges, and more.

From being a professional CS, Gonika Sachdeva somewhere or the other knew that fashion was her calling. Talking about the same, she says, “I would find myself consistently engrossed in discussions regarding creative designs. I actualized this dream in 2019 when I started my own label, Purosch Needlework.” A successful entrepreneur at such a young age, she has her own definition of success. “Success to me is the freedom to do what I want when I want it. I believe one is truly successful when one has the privileged combination of time and will,” says Sachdeva. An entrepreneur has to face all kinds of challenges with each passing day, when asked how she faces them on daily basis she says, “Simply put, my “why?” Is stronger than my “how?”.
The person leading a brand has to perform all kinds of jobs in the organization, whether it concerns the administrative or the creative department. Gonika says the majority of her day goes in creating new designs and conceptualizing new ideas for the brand, and the rest is spent on aligning the production schedules, communicating with her colleagues and her clients.
One always learns and grows in life by making mistakes but one always dreams to reverse some of the decisions they have made in their life. “Oh, how wonderful would that be, no? Well I would definitely time travel a few years back and tap into my creative potential way earlier than I did in reality,” says Sachdeva.
