The power couple, Dr Vivek Saggar and Dr Kavita Saggar have contributed indispensably towards the medical industry in the north region. In a candid conversation with this adorable duo, we explore more about their timeless bond and a heart-warming tale of love.

There are no accidental meetings of soulmates, for whatever is mend to be, will be and similar is the love story of Dr Vivek Saggar and Dr Kavita Saggar who tied the knot in an arranged marriage set-up, but fell in love with each other at the first sight. Their love story is one of which movies are made of!

In a heart-to-heart tête-à-tête with Dr Vivek Saggar, Implantologist and Cosmetic Dentist and Dr Kavita Saggar, Professor and Head of Department of Radio Diagnosis, Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, we delve into their heartening journey together so far. The duo is blessed with two talented children namely Dr Karan Saggar who is a practising dentist in Canada and Dr Vani Saggar who is pursuing her master’s degree in Health Administration at Columbia University, USA.

Tell us about your story, how did both of you meet and decided to get married?

Dr Vivek: I still vividly remember the day when I went to see her in Amritsar with my family and it was no less than a love at first sight. We spent a couple of hours together and developed a bond instantly, which made us affirmative that we want to marry each other. During those days, I was in Lucknow, and she was studying in Amritsar so we had a nice two-year courtship period, and I must admit, sometimes, I would spend my entire stipend on phone calls and sending cards to her.

Dr Kavita: When I first met Vivek, I instantly knew that he is the one with whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life. He exuded a very positive charm and a chivalrous personality.

What is your take on the healthcare industry in India?

Dr Vivek: I firmly believe that the healthcare industry in India has come a long way in proving its proficiency in different domains. Especially during the pandemic, the Indian healthcare sector stood strong, while the healthcare facilities collapsed for some of the most developed economies across the globe.

Dr Kavita: With the advancement of technology and a relentless support of the government, Indian healthcare sector is surpassing new benchmarks with each passing day. Keeping in view the large population of our country, various philanthropic initiatives are also being undertaken by most of the medical professionals.
