Kanwal, co-founder of Vikas Kanwal Design, is a creative force who believes branding is as much about emotion as it is about strategy. With a strong sense of originality and purpose, her journey reflects courage, intuition, and a commitment to meaningful design that connects deeply with people and businesses alike.
What inspired you to start Vikas Kanwal Design with your partner in 2011?
The desire was always inside me, even during college. Partnering with Vikas in life gave me wings, but he was the one who dared to step forward and pull us out of unfavourable job circumstances. My creative hunger and willingness to surrender to the grind became strong driving forces.
How would you describe your design philosophy when working with entrepreneurs and change makers?
Be original.
What challenges did you face while building your studio?
I don’t believe in the term “woman entrepreneur.” Business depends on strategy and firm decision-making, not gender. Our real challenge was choosing what not to do. We rejected more projects than we accepted because we believed in minimal, aesthetic design that wasn’t common locally. Still, we carved our path and earned respect and love that motivated us to keep solving design problems and grow the brand.
