Experimenting with India’s Textile Traditions

“When you enjoy something, you don’t look at it as a chore,” aptly states Shagun Deep Brar, the Founder of Nayab Designs

The journey for Shagun Deep Brar which started with building her wedding trousseau eventually made her realise her passion for Indian silhouettes and designs, and ever since then, there has been no turning back.

What motivated you to lay the foundation stone of your label?

It all started when I was building my wedding trousseau. I realised my passion for Indian silhouettes and designs. I wanted to bring my creative sensibilities to the fore. It’s been wonderful so far, and I’m sure it’s only going to get better.

What is your definition of clothing? How do designs up contribute towards the same?

Clothing to me is an extension of my artistic self. I like to experiment and give a unique yet modern spin to traditional aesthetics. My designs are conceptualised and constructed according to a client’s style, preferences and personality. Each piece is made by hand from start to finish using high-quality fabrics.
