Presenting an insider’s view into the life of Minu Bakshi!
Minu was born into a Sikh affluent family, with six siblings; wherein she was certainly the jack of all. “I used to ride motorbikes, at 14-15, wanted to be a pilot back then, loved reading and singing but was not the least interested in cooking or any household stuff. I wanted to do all that was not normal for a girl to do in those times,” smiles Minu. She pursued her schooling from St. Thomas school, followed by a graduation from Miranda House and then Jawaharlal Nehru University, from where she did her Masters and M. Phil in Spanish. “I was married when I was merely 19 years old. At that time, I was in my 3rd year of learning Spanish. However, I continued studies and had my children, all while completing my studies. Soon after, I started teaching the language at JNU and I continue to do it even today,” says Minu.
Intense and a perfectionist by nature, Minu realizes that success and satisfaction could only be achieved through rigorous training and hard work. Needless to say, her excellence in the fields of singing, writing, teaching, and social work stands testament to the same.
