Harbinder Singh Gujral is what you would categorise as a man with a legacy. Owning and operating his business since 1988, he has taken Gujral Sons from a humble establishment in Sector 17 that sold fine clothing and tailoring services for men, to a third-generation business that has two towering stores in Chandigarh with all kinds of solutions that a man could even dream of. “Our first store, which is an exclusive Raymond brand outlet has been very well received over the years, and now it seems like the right time to expand,” states Gujral. Despite the pandemic, Gujral is confident and hopeful of a better future. “There were a few challenges this past year, especially the lack of NRI travellers who drive a lot of sales. But things have picked up,” he asserts.
The latest venture is a massive showroom in the heart of Chandigarh’s Sector 34. Spread over an expansive space in the midst of Chandigarh’s elite wedding retail square, the second outlet by Gujral Sons is a fantasy brought to life for every discerning male individual looking to get his fashion fix. “We are strongly focused on the wedding market with this outlet. But the main idea is to provide guests with an under-one-roof experience irrespective of requirement and budget,” Gujral explains.
Housing brands like Harris Tweed, Zegna, Reda, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Scabal and all other major English and Italian brands, with enough varieties of fabric to cover the Earth, guests can walk in and choose from whatever their hearts may desire. You might notice the absence of Raymond, but that’s actually not the case as Gujral explains, “Raymond makes up for the bulk of our sales, but we’re allowing our guests to fulfil their desires by offering them as much variety as they could want.” So whether it is a groom looking for an exquisitely crafted tuxedo, or a blue-collar man looking for a shirt for his next job interview, or someone seeking to jazz up their man’s accessories with a sophisticated gift set, or a dandy gentleman looking to get a completely bespoke and never-seen-before suit stitched — Gujral Sons will offer it all.
