The professor-turned-fashion designer, Tanvir Kaur Dhandi is redefining fashion in the region with her design proficiency
Chandigarh-based designer Tanvir Kaur Dhandi grew up while spending time at her mother Barinder Kaur Kahlon’s boutique which made her develop a keen interest in fashion.
However, it was only later when she completed her masters in Information Technology from Panjab University and started serving as an Assistant Professor that she realized that fashion designing was her true calling.
So, without looking back, she decided to take the plunge and lay the foundation stone of her label, Harmonious Couture and ever since then, she is redefining fashion in the region.
Here’s more about her inspiring journey.
What fascinated you the most about fashion designing that you decided to make a career out of it? When did you finally take the plunge?
We established our label 17 years ago in 2003, with a vision to create elegant ensembles that were rich with the tapestry of techniques and flawless executions. Our hallmarks include fabulous fabrics, intricate embroideries and embellishments, with a desire to reinvent the classical heritage hues.
We have also expanded and created a sister brand in London UK by the name SK Kollection, which is run by Sukhpreet Kaur Kahlon; adding diffusion and Indo-Westernwear to our design proficiency.
