Presently practicing as Consultant Gynaecologist at the Division of Gynaecology Minimal Access Surgery, MM Super Specialty Hospital, Ambala, Dr Arun Kalpdev dons various hats including that of the H O D & Senior consultant at M M Institute of Medical Education & Research. Doing absolute justice to his field of expertise, Dr Kalpdev has been contributing indispensably towards the betterment of gynaecology since the last fifteen years.
He pursued his MBBS from Pt B D Sharma PGIMS Rohtak, Haryana and MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from India’s premier institute Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh. To further hone his expertise, he obtained a super specialization in Advanced Robotic Surgery & Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and ever since then, there has been no turning back.
Having more than 14 years of experience, you’ve been presented with Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Award and Bharat Excellence Award. What challenges did you face in the pursuit of such recognition?
Since years I have been doing exclusive work in Gynaecology laparoscopic surgeries. I have worked on almost every format ranging from nursing homes in villages up to high-end corporate setups, in this field, in Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gurugram, Delhi, Uttrakhand and even in Maldives, Africa etc. At every region, there were challenges in the form of patient awareness, financial issues, infrastructure, physician co-operation etc. But, I think, persistence is required to excel in your field, despite all hassles.
