Her patient’s satisfaction is her biggest reward, and Dr. Akanxa Bhatti from Darling Buds clinic believes that with time and better technology people have been more accepting of the procedure of hair transplantation. Here is her interesting conversation with Urban Melange where she talks about Darling Buds and her journey.
Q. What made you choose hair transplant as your line of career?
The field of hair restoration has never been this exciting before. It is indeed one specialty that is rewarding due to the fact that patients are immensely satisfied when they get their hair back. In my opinion, no other field is as emotionally rewarding for a doctor.
Q. How has the perspective of people changed towards hair transplants over the years?
Over a decade earlier, my father, Dr. Tejinder Bhatti was one of the first doctors to build an establishment focused exclusively on hair restoration surgery in India. During those days, FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) or strip surgery was an established treatment but people were apprehensive about going under the knife. With the advent of a new technique called FUE (Follicular Unit Excision), hair restoration surgery became increasingly acceptable and popular amongst even those not belonging to the showbiz industry.
In contrast to the trends that existed in the field earlier, hair restoration has never been as competitive as it is today. Earlier, Darling Buds was the only clinic in North India which practiced surgical hair restoration, exclusively.
