Provide us an insider view into your professional journey so far?

I started working at Harrods London as a stylist; I worked for 5 years, and then started by designing for myself for wedding functions. I was often praised for my outfits and asked to get one for them too. I had a few exhibitions and then started my label. I have currently designed a wedding collection called ‘Blooming Marvelous’ inspired by beautiful flowers that surrounded us in our day today. Flowers are expressive and make you live the moment. My collection has soft drapes, textures and bright colours. Key pieces are lehngas, flared pants and draped sarees.

What motivated you to take the plunge to become a female designer? What are some highlights of your trailblazing journey?

My mom is a designer, and I grew up playing with fabrics. I was styling my dolls and changing looks according to the character when I was 7. I had a water colour painting exhibition when I was 16. I studied fashion design and graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. Two years later, I started my label after receiving so much appreciation from friends and strangers at wedding parties etc. My label specializes in wedding wear and bridal wear.
