Creating Personal Bridal Statements

Simran Dhillon, a passionate designer of Indian and bridal wear, brings stories to life through her creations. With an eye for blending tradition and modernity, he crafts unique, meaningful pieces that celebrate heritage, personal milestones, and individuality.

Q. What drew you to focus on women’s Indian and bridal wear?

Honestly, it all started with my love for the stories our fabrics tell and the cultural meaning woven into each piece. India has such a rich diversity of cultures and craftsmanship, with incredible beauty in the artistry of bridal outfits. Bridal wear especially feels magical to me—it’s more than clothing; it’s about heritage, family traditions, and personal milestones.

Keeping traditional motifs alive in my designs while blending them with trendy silhouettes and colours allows us to create pieces that are modern yet rooted in tradition.

Moreover, designing bridal wear lets my team and me connect with brides on a deeper level, ensuring they feel special and connected to something meaningful on their big day.

Q. How do you blend tradition with modern trends in your bridal designs?

Blending tradition with modern styles is an art in itself, but I don’t think of modern trends as only bold or statement pieces. For example, a timeless lehenga can be paired with contemporary draping, minimalistic cuts, and classic motifs on rich fabrics like silk or brocade. This keeps the piece rooted in tradition but fresh and relevant for today’s brides.
