Bridging cultures in Fashion

In the colorful tapestry of Indian fashion, Param Preet Sidhu, the creative force behind Label by Param Sidhu, has woven a unique narrative. From courtroom advocacy to the vibrant world of design, his journey exudes passion and creativity. Param’s brand, catering to NRI clients with a blend of Pakistani elegance and Punjabi vibrancy, stands out for its handcrafted exclusivity. In conversation with Nikita Agarwal, he delves into his story, where each stitch tells a tale of tradition and innovation.

Can you share the inspiration behind your transition from advocacy to the world of fashion design?

It all started when my relatives from abroad began preferring my choices for their Indian wedding wear. What began as a hobby soon turned into a full-fledged profession, driven by the happiness I found in designing.

Who is your target audience, and what sets your latest collection apart?

I primarily cater to NRI clients, especially from the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The latest collection draws inspiration from Pakistani designers, blending their elegance with Punjab’s traditional designs. For women, gararas and shararas are in vogue, while men’s fashion focuses on pathani suits with blazers. Bridal preferences have shifted to deeper tones like maroons, reds, and rust from pastels.

What makes your brand unique in the competitive fashion industry?

We differentiate ourselves through our emphasis on handwork, particularly dori work this season. Each piece is crafted exclusively, showcasing the dedication of our special team of artisans.
