An Epitome of Style

Presenting a sneak-peak into the journey of Beantpal Aulakh Rai (Bunty), Founder, Barkat Studio

A true Punjabi at heart, Beantpal Aulakh Rai alias Bunty was always fascinated about Punjabi suits, tille wali jutti and hardcore Punjabi weddings. She had an underlying interest in designing which eventually turned into her passion. She noticed the incredible clothing that the indigenous people of Chandigarh wore and was in awe at how amazingly well-dressed they seemed with the new fashion statements, and that’s how she laid the foundation stone of the much-coveted Barkat Studio.

In the Shoes of a Fashion Designer

Being a Fashion Designer makes Rai explore new angles of fashion designing and that’s something that she cherishes the most about being a designer.

When you connect to people, you take notes of their attire and see how you can add some flavours to it and set a new trend. People now-a-days seem willing to dress a little bit differently from one another. It gives me a chance to gradually take my work closer to the essence of the original Punjabi tradition,” shared Rai.
