In the heart of Mohali stands Paragon Senior Secondary School, a beacon of excellence in education since its inception in 1981. Founded on the visionary foresight of Sardar Balraj Singh Shergill, Paragon has carved a niche for itself among the prestigious educational institutions in the region. With a commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals, the school has consistently evolved to meet the changing dynamics of education and societal expectations.

Since its foundation, Paragon has celebrated numerous milestones and its planned expansion with a residential smart school underscores Paragon’s ambition to extend its educational ethos to a broader community. This is complemented by the integration of cutting-edge technology and innovative teaching practices, including well-equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, and a focus on skill education that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century.

In our exploration of Paragon Senior Secondary School’s remarkable journey and its steadfast commitment to holistic education, we had the privilege of speaking with the school’s principal, Jasmeet Kaur and vice-principal, Amarpal Kaur. Their leadership exemplifies Paragon’s dedication to nurturing not just academically proficient students, but also empathetic and socially responsible individuals ready to contribute to the world.

As the Principal, how would you describe your leadership philosophy, and how has it influenced the school’s culture and success?

Jasmeet Kaur: My vision for the school is to reach the zenith of success. I am a firm believer of nurturing raw individual and aim to work continuously towards imparting education of superlative quality to the children. Grooming a child is continuous and sublime task processed through augmentation.  Learning is not a spectator’s sport but involves earnest input of child to emerge with an enriched experience that would associate with him for life long. So, I believe to provide students environment that enhance their inner potential to accept challenges of life in stronger way.

Under your leadership, the school has achieved many milestones. What strategies have you implemented to achieve educational excellence, and how do you measure success?

Jasmeet Kaur: In order to promote a 21st century skill-based education curriculum, our key focus has been on faculty development – providing continuous teacher training for imparting the latest in pedagogy for the students whilst ensuring a respect for inculcating values of tradition and discipline. At the heart of it, our hard-working teachers have always strived for the well-being of the future of our students. We are indeed grateful to the parents for reposing their faith and complete confidence year after year, by entrusting their children to us to mould them into worthy citizens of the society.
