Designing Generations, Stitching Excellence

Rupam Kaur Grewal seamlessly bridges two powerful worlds — couture and education. As the force behind Jamawar Minx and the leader of Badhani Public School, she blends heritage, precision, and purpose. Her journey reflects a philosophy of excellence, proving that whether designing garments or shaping minds, true legacy lies in meaningful creation.

What inspired you to build Jamawar Minx and lead Badhani Public School?
My journey began with a search for silhouettes that balanced heritage with modern power. When I couldn’t find them, I created Jamawar Minx. Leading Badhani Public School stems from the same belief — education builds futures just as fashion builds confidence. One designs garments; the other designs generations. Both are acts of legacy.

How do you balance creativity in fashion with leadership in education?
I follow one principle: The Pedagogy of Perfection. Whether designing a curriculum or a couture gown, excellence lies in details. Creativity fuels my vision, while institutional discipline ensures technical precision. I don’t divide my time between two worlds; I multiply my standards across both so each reflects integrity and excellence.

As a woman entrepreneur, what was your biggest early challenge?
My greatest challenge was refusing to compromise. In both fashion and education, even the smallest flaw matters. I initially struggled with carrying every responsibility myself. Learning to delegate while maintaining standards became my biggest lesson. I realised perfection builds a brand, but empowering others builds a true leader.
