Hailing her roots from Mandi Gobindgarh (Punjab), Dr Prabhleen Johal was born to Sardar Tirath Singh Johal, a well-established businessman and Mrs Surjit Kaur Johal, who serves as a Principal at a reputed school.
Ever since childhood, Prabhleen had a penchant for serving the humanity in the best way possible and that’s what motivated her to take the plunge and become a doctor. She pursued Bachelors of Dental Surgery (2014) from Panjab University and served as a dentist in various dental clinics for about three years.
The Philanthropist
Simultaneously, Prabhleen prepared meticulously for the Dental Boards of the USA and Canada to get into Doctorate of Dental Surgery program at a reputed Dental School, as she had initially planned. However, she eventually realised that money could never satisfy her soul.
While providing a sneak-peek into the same, she shared, “I never had the stereotypical ‘Punjabi dream’ of going abroad; despite the fact that most of relatives are well-settled out there. I have always wanted to help people at a larger scale in the best of my ability, which motivated me to stay back in India and put my best foot forward. So, I began organizing Free Dental Check-up and Awareness Camps at various schools in my hometown. Believe me, nothing has satisfied me more than this at the end of the day.”
