Mr Gay India 2014, Sushant Divgikar has been taking his imprints on the world map by leaps and bounds with each passing day. An eminent actor, singer, anchor and more than that a ‘performer’ as he likes to call it, Divgikar has been victorious in being the ‘queen of hearts’ for his drag avatar, Rani Ko-He-Nur. However, there’s so much more to Divgikar than that; here we explore in this candid interview.
Take us through your early days?
I had a beautiful childhood and I have been really blessed to have parents like Pradeep Divgikar and Bharati Divgikar who always showered me with unconditional love and acceptance. I have an elder brother and we both have always got an equal amount of support from our family. When I told my parents about my orientation, they made no big deal out of it and just said, ‘you are our son regardless of whether you are gay or not.’ So needless to say, my early days have been really beautiful.
