What inspired you to launch Olive by Embassy and enter the hospitality industry?
The inspiration behind launching Olive by Embassy and venturing into the hospitality industry stemmed from our journey in India’s co-living market, which began in 2019. We initially focused on providing tailored living solutions for millennials, Gen-Z, and urban newcomers. It wasn’t just the scarcity of spaces but also factors such as affordability and flexibility that made co-living and community living appealing. Driven by the impact of the pandemic, in March 2021, we seized the opportunity to revitalise underperforming hotels, transforming them into hybrid accommodations that could offer both short and long stays. We aim to create a platform that caters to diverse needs and budgets, whether you’re seeking long-term budget student accommodation or looking to stay in the lap of luxury, all while nurturing a sense of community.
