The Entrepreneurial Spirit of Punjab

Punjab has always been known as the land of resilience, sincerity, and hard work—qualities that shine not only in its culture but also in its business ecosystem. Few stories capture this spirit as powerfully as that of Sanjeev Juneja, the man who built Dr. Ortho from Punjab into a trusted household name across India. His journey is not just about creating a brand—it is about keeping faith in values, solving real problems, and carrying Punjab’s entrepreneurial legacy to the national stage.

Punjab has always been known for its entrepreneurial spirit—what inspired you to build a brand from here that went on to become a national name?
Punjab has always been about resilience and hard work. Growing up here, I saw how people take pride in everything they do. That inspired me to create brands rooted in trust and value. My aim was never just business—it was to solve real health and lifestyle problems that families face every day.

From a regional base to a household name across India—what was the turning point for Dr. Ortho?
The real turning point came when people outside Punjab started sharing how Dr. Ortho had genuinely improved their lives. Advertising helped visibility, but word-of-mouth built trust. That trust gave us the confidence to scale nationally.

What were the biggest challenges you faced in taking a Punjab-born brand to the national stage?
The challenges were many—different consumer needs, building new distribution networks, adapting packaging, and meeting national expectations. At the same time, we had to ensure affordability and quality remained intact.
