Shivani, the creative force behind *Bake for Me*, embarked on her baking journey after a decade in the corporate world, discovering her passion during a break for motherhood. She transformed her love for desserts into a thriving business, blending traditional Indian wedding elements with delightful flavors. In conversation with Urban Melange, Shivani shares how vibrant cultural motifs inspire her cakes and why her creations are becoming a must-have at urban Indian weddings.

Q. What inspired you to become a baker?

I spent 10 years in the corporate world but took a break for motherhood. Throughout my life, I had always loved making desserts, but it wasn’t until my hobby turned into a passion, fueled by people’s appreciation, that I truly embraced it. I sought out professional courses, attended baking classes led by some of the world’s top baking artists. Once I realized that baking gave me a sense of fulfillment that no other profession could, blending creativity and precision, “Bake for Me” was born. I haven’t looked back since.

Q. How do Indian wedding traditions influence your cake designs?

Indian weddings are a celebration of vibrant colors, and wedding cakes are often inspired by the rich hues that complement the bride’s or groom’s attire or the overall wedding theme. Adding a touch of cultural elegance to the celebration.
