Redefining Sikh Pilgrimage Through Technology

In an innovative fusion of tradition and technology, Sikh pilgrims now have a new tool to enhance their spiritual journeys. Mohali resident Narinder Singh Bhangu has launched the “Historical Gurudwaras” app, designed to revolutionize how devotees experience Sikh sacred sites across India. With integrated Google Maps navigation, in-depth historical narratives, and vibrant imagery, the app simplifies spiritual travel while enriching it with cultural insights.

Narinder Singh, 49, spent 18 years visiting 1,225 Gurudwaras across India, meticulously documenting their history and significance. His aim is to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, making Sikh history accessible to all. The app is more than a navigation tool; it’s a culmination of nearly two decades of devotion and research, offering an authentic, immersive experience for users.

The app features exclusive historical content from Bhai Nishan Singh Ji of Australia, whose video narratives delve into the hidden relics and overlooked stories of these sacred sites. Multilingual and user-friendly, “Historical Gurudwaras” is currently available in English, with Punjabi and Hindi versions in development. Its standout feature is real-time suggestions for nearby Gurudwaras, ensuring users never miss a historical site.
