Punjab’s Youth – Key Drivers of Change

In conversation with Urban Melange, Deep Tiwana, a young and driven politician from Punjab gives a peek into his world. He is the Gen-Sec Youth Congress Punjab, District President Youth Congress Patiala Rural, Gen-Sec Youth Congress Punjab and Former President NSUI. With a passion for social change and a vision for a brighter future, Deep shares his journey, aspirations, and strategies to empower the youth and shape the political landscape of Punjab.

What inspired you to enter politics at such a young age?

Student activism inspired me to join politics. When I entered college, I witnessed many issues students faced and tried to solve them, which initiated my journey. It was seeing firsthand the challenges and struggles of my peers that fueled my desire to make a difference in the political landscape of Punjab. I felt a strong sense of responsibility to advocate for change and address the pressing issues affecting our youth and society as a whole.

How do you envision your role in shaping the future of Punjab?

As a youngster, I feel emigration is the biggest issue in Punjab. Unemployment, drugs, and other problems force the youth to leave their native country, requiring serious attention. My vision for Punjab revolves around creating opportunities for the youth, ensuring they have access to quality education, employment, and healthcare within the state. By focusing on these fundamental aspects, I aim to curb emigration and contribute to building a prosperous and sustainable future for Punjab.
