Navigating Hospitality’s Diversity with Marriott

Embark on a journey through the vibrant hospitality landscape of Southeast Asia with Antonio Bissoni, a seasoned leader with three decades of experience. From humble beginnings in Lake Como to navigating diverse markets, Antonio’s passion for connecting with people drives Marriott’s excellence in guest experiences across Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Tell us about your journey till now?

My journey started in Lake Como three decades ago when the “passion to serve” bug caught me. I was a teenager bartending in a high-end cocktail bar and realized how great it felt to make people happy. I went on to live and work in 10 different countries before finally landing six years ago in Bangkok, which is where my family and I now call home.

How do you navigate the diverse markets of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar in your role?

These markets are actually very diverse in nature, each with a distinct culture and different market trends. But they also have one important thing in common, which is their passion for hospitality. These three countries (Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia) have all matured (or are still maturing) at a different pace, but in each of them I feel a tremendous drive to grow and be part of something bigger. What helps me to navigate them is our company value around “Putting People First.” My natural propensity to connect with people and build relationships is the not-so-secret ingredient.
