How would you introduce Max?
Quality Healthcare has been the firm footing upon which Max Super speciality hospital has built a reputation of excellence. The level of healthcare services that we provide truly sets us apart and makes us the hospital of choice for the people of the region.
Tell us about your journey with Max.
I was always been attracted to the healthcare sector. Having worked with different leading hospitals for several years, like Care, Fortis and Apollo, I have gained expertise in different fields of management of healthcare sector like marketing and brand management. My journey with Max has been very satisfying and fulfilling. My priority has always been to ensure that the hospital provides quality care to its patients and there is complete harmony in day-to-day activities.
Medical treatment costs are increasing with each passing day. Where does your hospital stand in providing quality healthcare affordable to all?
We consider it our responsibility to serve the underprivileged and needy patients who can’t afford treatment. We organise camps in remote areas of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and provide free medical services and health awareness to the poor.
Max hospital shares a public private partnership (PPP) with the Punjab government wherein the hospital in partnership with the Punjab government undertakes various health related initiatives. A part of the revenue of the hospital is provided to the Punjab Government which is then used for various health initiatives of the state government. Max India Foundation is the CSR wing of Max India which provides monetary help to needy patients to get treated.
What are the specialities that you offer? What makes your hospital different as compared to others?
We offer an array of medical services, ranging from preventive to curative to consultancy. The hospital specialises in cardiology, Oncology, orthopaedics, renal transplants, neuro surgeries, to name just a few. It is well-equipped with eight state-of-the-art operation theatres and two hi-tech cath labs. The hospital boasts of 3D digital orthopaedics suite which is a first-of-its-kind in Asia Pacific region. The hospital has got recognition from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). The hospital provides best-in class healthcare services and ensures round the clock medical aid. We ensure complete transparency in the processes whether its bills, services or management.
For any service, feedbacks play a major role. Keeping this in mind, we ask for feedbacks from patients and their relatives. These feedbacks are carefully analysed as these help us to improve our services. To ensure the sanctity of the feedback we have engaged a third party to collect the feedback from our patients.
All this has helped Max to build its reputation and in becoming one of the most preferred brand in the region in a very short period of time.
What is the bed strength and the number of clinicians in the hospital?
Max Super Speciality hospital has state-of-the-art infrastructure that has a total of 224 beds and has plans to further expand it to 300 beds. A dedicated team of 150 clinicians are available to the patients. The doctors are highly qualified and offer dedicated care and personalised attention to every patient. Earning the trust of the patients by providing a transparent structure and giving them world class treatment is their foremost objective.
What have been your best moments with Max?
I consider every moment with Max as special. It feels wonderful to see patients being treated properly and see them leaving hale and hearty. For me, their blessings are the real reward for our services.
What are your future plans for Max?
Expansion is an ongoing process in our hospital be it infrastructure or introduction of new medical techniques. Presently, we are working towards adding more specialities and newer technology to the hospital. Also, we plan to add more skilled clinicians in our team.
Do you think medical facilities in India are lacking in any way as compared to other countries?
No! I believe we provide better healthcare facilities here in India. India has been growing rapidly in the healthcare sector and coming up as one of the primary healthcare service providers. I have seen a lot of international patients who come to India for medical treatment.
What are the challenges that you face?
I have faced a lot of challenges in my career. It’s never an easy task to manage the affairs of such large organisations. Also, dealing with the patients is sometimes a tough task. Patients have a lot of expectations from a hospital. No one wants to die and the terminally ill patients expect miracles from us. So meeting the expectations of the patients is also a huge challenge.
Another challenge is getting highly skilled and qualified doctors. Doctors prefer to settle abroad and in this race India is losing some of its most qualified doctors.
