Leading With Purpose: Redefining CSR and Social Impact

From entrepreneur to change maker, Lakhminder Kaur’s journey is proof that purpose, and perseverance can reshape the world around us. As Punjab’s first empanelled social auditor and the driving force behind multiple initiatives, she shares how she bridges business with social responsibility—and why sustainability must go beyond just compliance.

What sparked your interest in CSR and sustainability?

I had to start my own NGO along with a few friends, and we wanted to run it in a corporate way. This led me to find online courses, but I eventually found a Master’s program in CSR & Sustainability. My deep-rooted passion for social impact and community development naturally led me to CSR and sustainability. As an industrialist, I also realized that true growth is only meaningful when it uplifts society and protects the environment. This belief has guided my journey into ESG, CSR consulting, and becoming Punjab’s first empanelled social auditor.

How do you manage your multiple roles across organizations?

Now that my sons have also entered the business, I have ample time on my hands, so I wanted to utilise it in a constructive way. I believe in structured delegation and clear vision. Whether it’s as Administrative Director at Lucky Group, Women Convenor at UCPMA, or leading my NGO, each role aligns with my core purpose—empowering others. Passion keeps me energized, and teamwork makes it possible. Actually, if you find your passion, you can do wonders—that is what happened with me.
