Founded in 1995 by Naresh Aggarwal and Nikhil Mittal, NN Aggarwal Jewellers brought a fresh vision to Ambala’s jewellery scene. In conversation with Nikita Agarwal, Naresh Aggarwal shares how passion, trust, and a commitment to quality helped the brand become a household name across generations of loyal customers.
What’s the story behind NN Aggarwal Jewellers?
Our family has always been in the jewellery business, but I wanted to do something different. In 1995, I started NN Aggarwal Jewellers along with my partner, Nikhil Mittal. Later, my son Nitin also joined us. We were the first to open a jewellery showroom in Ambala. Our aim was to be trendsetters in the jewellery industry in the city, and that vision guided us from the very beginning.
How have you seen the jewellery industry evolve in Ambala?
Ambala has always been a hub for jewellery. Being a commercial manufacturing centre, it used to supply jewellery to nearby states like Himachal and Punjab. People from across the region would come to Ambala to shop for jewellery. So yes, the city has always played an important role in this industry.
What makes your collections stand out in Ambala’s jewellery market?
Earlier, people mostly preferred traditional gold jewellery, especially customers from Himachal. I used to travel to cities like Bombay, Delhi, and Balrajpur to understand new trends and source different designs. We were among the first to bring the concept of customized jewellery to Ambala. At that time, the focus in Ambala was more on quality and less on design. We changed that by offering great design without compromising on quality.
That helped us grow rapidly, and there’s been no looking back since. We’ve always stayed a step ahead of the market. Our collections are different, and we have built a strong base of loyal customers who have trusted us for decades, even across generations.
