From Emotion to Expression – Divita’s Journey Through Heer Express

In a world where dreams are often side-lined for practicality, Divita Juneja chose to follow her passion for storytelling and performing. Her debut as the lead in Heer Express, releasing August 2025, is more than just a film credit — it’s a reflection of the grit, emotion, and love she has for acting. From emotional workshops to real jail sets, Divita brings authenticity and intensity to her role as Heer, a girl rooted in tradition yet full of life. In this interview, she talks about transforming a lifelong passion into a full-time profession — and what it really takes to show up for your dream.

How did you prepare for your role in Heer Express?

I’ve always been an observer of emotions — that habit helped me a lot as an actor. To prepare, I went through intensive workshops, character analysis, and emotional research. The sessions with Vibha ma’am and Umesh sir really helped sharpen my skillset. This wasn’t just a project — it was a step forward in making my passion a serious profession.

What made you say yes to this character and story?

It was Heer’s simplicity and love for her family. I was drawn to her complexity too — she’s innocent yet layered, someone who can cook, ride horses, and carry her values with strength. That kind of role excites you as an actor and as someone who truly loves storytelling.

How did you connect emotionally with Heer?

I drew from personal experiences to make her feel real. Her traditionally Punjabi values, her respect for elders, and her emotional bond with her family reminded me of my own upbringing. This emotional familiarity made the transition from passion to performance natural and rewarding.
