Could you share your journey and experience in the hospitality industry leading up to your current role as Regional Director of Sales for Asia at Minor Hotels?
My journey in the hospitality industry began as a management trainee in Starwood Hotels, now Marriott, after completing my MBA in marketing. This initial role provided me with invaluable insights into customer expectations and laid the foundation for my career. Over the years, I progressed through various roles in global sales, marketing, revenue management, and e-commerce, working with leading hotel chains such as Intercontinental Hotel Group and Radisson Hotel across Asia. Each role contributed to my comprehensive understanding of the industry and prepared me for my current position as Regional Director of Sales for Asia at Minor Hotels.
What motivated you to pursue a career in hospitality management, and what do you find most rewarding about your role?
Despite not having a background in hotel management, I was drawn to hospitality by my passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. The most rewarding aspect of my role is driving revenue growth, fostering relationships with clients and partners, and leading teams to success. The dynamic nature of the industry keeps me engaged, and witnessing the impact of our efforts on guest satisfaction and business performance is incredibly fulfilling.
