Creating a calming wellness space at home

—- By Preeti Porwal, CoFounder of Icon Projects Inspace Pvt Ltd (IPIPL)

In recent years, the concept of wellness spaces at home has gained popularity as people seek to create havens for relaxation and rejuvenation within their own living spaces. Whether it’s a

dedicated room or a small corner of a room, designing a wellness space at home can help promote overall well-being and a sense of calm in our fast-paced world. When it comes to interior design for wellness spaces, there are a few key principles to keep in mind. First and foremost, it’s important to create a sense of balance and harmony in the space. This can be achieved by incorporating elements of nature, such as plants, stones, or water features, which can help to promote a sense of serenity and tranquility.

Lighting is also a crucial aspect of wellness spaces at home. Natural light is always best. So, if

possible, try to position your wellness space near a window or in a room with good natural lighting. If natural light is not an option, soft, warm lighting can help create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Consider adding dimmer switches or additional lighting sources, such as floor lamps or string lights, to create a customizable ambiance. In terms of furnishings and decor, choose items that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Comfortable seating, soft textiles, and calming colors can all help to create a sense of coziness and relaxation in your wellness space.
