It is a shared dream rooted in Indian craftsmanship, creativity and family. As father and daughter, they have built a journey that celebrates Make in India while taking Indian design to a global stage.
What inspired you to build this journey together?
India has always had an extraordinary creative soul — in the hands of its artisans, in the textures of its crafts and in the stories behind every piece made here. We both felt that deeply and often wondered why the world was not seeing Indian craftsmanship the way we did. That became our shared obsession: to take Indian craft and place it on the stage it truly deserves. Bent Chair was never just about furniture or décor. It was about changing how people feel about what is made in India. Building that together as a family made every step even more meaningful.
What is one thing you constantly learn from each other?
From Dad, I learn perseverance — the kind that does not announce itself. He has an unshakeable commitment to the brand, which is both humbling and inspiring. On difficult days, watching how he shows up reminds me why we started. I think what he takes from me is a certain restlessness — the need to keep questioning, evolving and asking what more is possible. We balance each other beautifully. He keeps me grounded, and I keep things moving forward.
Who brings more structure and who brings more spontaneity?
He is the structure — the plan, the process and the person who ensures the vision does not just remain in our heads. I am the one who may walk in on a Monday with an idea that was not on anyone’s radar and somehow convince everyone it is the direction we need to take. That is exactly why we work. You need the boldness to dream something wild and the discipline to build it. Between the two of us, we have both.
