Dhruv Talwar, who joined the family business in 2008 after pursuing gemology in the United States, has been instrumental in ensuring that Talwarsons continues to honour its legacy while keeping pace with modern trends. In conversation with Nikita Agarwal, Dhruv shares insights into his journey, the brand’s design philosophy, and the values that set Talwarsons apart.

Was jewellery always your calling, or did life nudge you into it?
It was definitely in my blood. Jewellery has been our family’s line of work for about eight generations now, so in many ways, I grew up immersed in it. It felt natural to carry the legacy forward.

How did you contribute to the family business, and what is the goal of the brand?
Talwarsons is one of the oldest and most respected jewellery brands in Chandigarh. When I joined the business in 2008 after completing my gemology course in the US, my goal was to ensure that the brand stayed relevant by incorporating current trends while maintaining our commitment to excellence. Our aim has always been to uphold our legacy while delivering jewellery of the highest standards.

What does the word ‘trust’ mean to you in the jewellery business?
Trust is everything. For the past 70 years, the people of this city have trusted us to deliver nothing but the finest jewellery. We honour that trust by ensuring the highest quality standards available in the country. For us, trust isn’t just a word — it’s the foundation of every relationship we build with our clients.
