With a philanthropic approach and a far-sighted vision to help Punjab fight the battle against Coronavirus, Jaijeet Johal is leading a team of dedicated volunteers in Bathinda who are contributing indispensably to put their best foot forward in this testing time.
“The volunteers and all the frontline workers also have a family – they carry a lot of mental baggage when they come out of the comfort of their homes. However, it is their selflessness and indomitable will to manage this situation, which is helping us control the spread of the virus. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers, frontline workers and people of our constituency who are working in unison to win this battle,” firmly stated Johal.
How has your typical day routine changed ever since the virus outbreak?
Ever since the virus outbreak, we have devoted all our time in managing the situation in Bathinda with a three-pronged strategy. The first and foremost being COVID management, wherein we have arranged enough hospital beds and PPE kits. We were the first ones in the country to conduct a Guard of Honor for the doctors, policemen and other frontline workers. After that we looked into the ration, food and medicine distribution in the Bathinda. We’ve distributed about 22,000 ration packets door-to-door to poor as well as the lower-middle class. Fortunately, we have received whole-hearted donations from about 70 lakh residents of the region.
