Creating personalized luxury experiences – One World

With over two decades of experience in planning luxury destination weddings and travel experiences, Anshuman Mitra, Founder & CEO, One World, a leading Destination & Event Management Company with presence in India, Thailand & UAE shares insights on the challenges and rewards of planning events in the travel industry, how they help clients choose the perfect destination, and how they balance creating a luxurious experience while being mindful of clients’ budgets.

What motivated you to pursue a career in the travel industry?

Fresh out of the school in 1993, I started my travel carer at the age of 19 and at that young age, it was obviously the glamour quotient which pulls you in travel, hospitality & aviation. In less than 6 months, the glamour was gone, and I realised that there’s a lot of hard work, specialised skill set, unusually long working hours and never-so-no to traveling. As the journey unfolded, I loved my passion for exploring new places, learning different aspects of travel, and meeting people from around the world.

How do you help couples choose the perfect destination for their weddings?

We always start by getting to know the couple, understanding their personality, aspirations, preferences, budget, and any specific requirements, which are crucial in helping them choose the perfect destination for their wedding.  We ask them about the type of wedding they want, such as the style, size, and location and based on that a best suited “fully customised” proposal is shared with them.
