Namrata Purohit was blessed with an inherent zeal & zest towards fitness ever since childhood. However, a knee injury at the age of 16 made her undergo surgery. But she did not allow the agony to tame her. This incident changed her life, for good. In spite of all the pain that the injury caused, Namrata decided to join a Pilates course hosted by her father Samir Purohit and that lead to the magical revelation! She got rid of the pain in a few days, and this motivated her to spread the magic of Pilates across the globe. Ever since then, she teaches mat as well as equipment based Pilates (Reformer, Chair, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel). She also trains people with injuries such as slip disk, knee or hip injuries, shoulder injuries and the like, as well as special population like the elderly, pregnant women, people with osteoporosis, arthritis etc.

Being a sports person herself and fitness enthusiast all her life, taking up a field in fitness has been natural for her. Her passion for fitness and sheer dedication to her work is what makes her classes motivating & challenging. She is a sought-after fitness professional at this young age, making her a very popular fitness expert. She has trained notable personalities like Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Nargis Fakhri, Neha Dhupia, Lauren Gottlieb, Shibani Dandekar, Elli Avram, Bruna Abdullah & Malaika Arora Khan.

She was also the official fitness partner to Femina Miss India Organization (since 2011) and official Fitness Partner to Miss Diva (2013 and 2014). Purohit, along with her father, were official Pilates coaches to the 2014 Mumbai City FC team.

Speaking about how significant Pilates is, Namrata recently quoted to an online portal, “It is highly customized to your body type and your needs and also takes your goals and injuries (if any) into consideration. It is extremely challenging but very safe. It is gentle on the joins, yet gives the entire body a tough workout. Not only does it work the superficial muscles of the body but also the deeper muscles. It improves your posture, stability, and balance. It is a form of exercise that gets you FIT, not only strong, or flexible, or agile but all in one. It helps you be the best that you can be!”

“Pilates is an extremely challenging but safe form of exercise. Pilates can be included as part of your already existing workout regime or can be done as a workout in itself. It is an extremely important form of exercise especially nowadays as postural issues have become a major problem, there are a lot more injuries and many people have aches and pains. Pilates works your body thoroughly thus preventing these pains and getting rid of them. It is also amazing for sports players as it strengthens the body inside out and helps stabilize and balance the body, preventing injury in the long run”, she further added.

Namrata believes that fitness is far more than just how you look. It includes strength, flexibility, stamina, endurance, high energy levels & much more, and advices to keep your fitness regime Safe, Simple and Smart!
