Born to a family of doctors, Dr Nupur Shah was a hard-working nerd at school and a rifle shooting champion. As child, all eyes were expectantly keen to see her as a Medical student and medicine was something that always interested her as she used to attend her family hospital as a kid. Having graduated (MBBS) from Maharaja Sayajorao University, Baroda, she pursued her Post-Graduation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and needless to say, she owes her success to her parents.
What made you choose the speciality of Maternal Fetal Medicine?
Ever since my post-graduation days, the concept of antenatal ultrasounds and diagnosing birth defects before the baby is born overwhelmed me. So, I pursued my training from Apollo Centre of Fetal Medicine, Delhi and Fetal Medicine Foundation, London. This was followed by my training in Medical Genetics from Gangaram Hospital, Delhi.
